Crazy Pineapple

Texas Hold'em, Omaha, 7 Card Stud... These all poker games sound serious and professional. They are all a part of the largest poker events in the world. But there is a poker game that will make you smile every time you hear – Crazy Pineapple Poker. Not only neither of the words make sense between one another, but it makes a very misguiding feeling towards the game. In fact, the game is not crazy at all and, to the biggest disappointment, there are no pineapples!

Seriously, Crazy Pineapple Poker is very similar to Texas Hold'em usually played as a Home Game because it is very hard to find an online poker room to offer this kind of poker version. Moreover, Pineapple Poker has several variations including Crazy Pineapple, Lazy Pineapple or Tahoe Poker.

Basic Crazy Pineapple Poker Rules

As we said, Crazy Pineapple Poker is very similar to Texas Hold'em poker rules with a resemblance to Omaha and Draw Poker. The significant change in Pineapple Poker – you start with 3 cards (in Texas Hold'em you start with 2 while in Omaha you start with 4). But try not to underestimate this small difference. In hand selection and Post-Flop Strategy it does make a difference so stay observant.

Crazy Pineapple is a community Card Game such as Texas Hold'em and Omaha. You see 3 cards of Flop dealt, 1 card of Turn and 1 card of River with betting rounds followed by each. But in Crazy Pineapple after the Flop is dealt, you discard one of three cards you are holding and with the two left, on Turn and River you play this game identically to Texas Hold'em.

Deal and Betting Rounds in Crazy Pineapple Poker

At the beginning, two players with Small Blind and Big Blind buttons pay the blinds to the pot. Small Blind is a half of a minimum bet while the Big blind is a whole minimum bet. Every player gets his 3 Hole Cards. The betting round begins and everyone who wants to play must put at least the minimum bet into the pot. Once every player has evened out the amount they contributed into the pot, the Flop is Dealt.

FLOP: Three face-up cards are dealt that everyone will be able to use in making their best combination at the showdown. After these cards have been dealt, the second round of betting commences. Once it is finished, players get to do something 'Crazy'.

The difference in Pineapple is that after 2nd betting round, each player must throw away one card from their holdings. So, if you have AAA, unfortunately, you will have to give up one of those aces. For this reason, the best combination to start with in Crazy Pineapple it is considered to be pocket Aces with a high suited card. This opens the most possibilities to Flop a Straight, a Flush or at least a Two-pair or a Set.

Best Starting Hands in Crazy Pineapple Poker

Hand Strength Table:

Also, there is a variant of Pineapple Poker called Tahoe or Lazy Pineapple. It is not so different for either of the poker games Texas Hold'em and Crazy Pineapple.
